Divine Guidance - Rev Chris Mateyu

The songs sung by the choir and the congregational songs have already given us what we are talking about today:-

God is still providing divine guidance to those who trust and obey his instructions according to His word.  Isaiah 30 vs. 21 reads “And thane ears shall hear a word behind thee saying, this is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to thee right hand, and when ye turn to the left’ the good question this morning is do you hear this word behind you?  I remember some years ago when I was still spiritual young.  I was hitting something using a hammer, as I was hitting holding the item, a word behind me warned “Do not hit holding the item this way; you will hit your finger”.  I did not respond to the word behind me, I kept hitting and missed the item and hit my finger.  As I was in pain I blamed myself for not taking heed to the word behind me.  This has been a case to many of us owing to lack of taking cognizance of divine guidance.

Our spiritual forefathers sought divine guidance on all matters in life.  Acts 1 vs. 24 reads “And they prayed, and said, Thou Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men shew whether of these two thou hast chosen”.  They did not look at their outside appearance and their suitability owing to their experience in the church.  They asked for divine guidance from the one who knows the hearts of all men.  And Mathias was chosen to replace Judas.

May god help us to seek divine guidance in all areas of our lives as a student before you ventured into a degree seek divine guidance.

As a young person preparing to get married seeks divine guidance first don’t look at the outside good look.

Are we facing a problem in life as individuals or as a family or as a church we should not depend on our minds or our experience, but rather seek for divine guidance for a solution.  If we seek divine guidance, we will never go wrong and we will be happy all the way.

The journey of the Israelites from Egypt to the promised land on Palestine can be compared to the journey of a Christian from the day one is born again, thus out of the sinful world “Egypt” into a journey as a new born person to the heavenly promised land.  Exodus 13 vs. 21 – 22 “ And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way, and a pillar of fire, to give them light, to go by  day and night:  He took not the pillar of cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from the people”.  God gave Israel divine guidance in the way. God is still giving divine guidance to those who will trust and obey “Thus saith the Lord”.  The bible is the pillar of cloud to us today. One must keep his eyes upon the bible day in and day out for divine guidance.  If the bible says stop! One must stop if it says press on; one must carry on with the journey.  Just like the Lord kept the pillar of cloud guiding the Israelites and took it not away from them until they reached the Promised Land, the Lord will ensure that the bible is within the reach of those who love to look into it for divine guidance until they reach the heavenly Promised Land.  May God bless you as you depend upon this divine provision to guide the people of God to the glory land.
